Elaphe at DritEV 2026

 

Proud to have our Product Manager, Jurij Kern, present Elaphe’s Sonic X platform at Dritev 2026 in Baden-Baden last week.

Performance vehicles are entering a different phase. Raw performance upgrades through P1-P3 hybridization are no longer enough to differentiate, especially as China produces BEV’s with +1MW for less than 100k$. For OEMs, the bigger question is how the vehicle moves, responds and feels.

Sonic X is an in-wheel motor platform designed to fit inside 20–23” wheels while keeping compatibility with a performance disc brake, enabling seamless integration into existing vehicle platforms without driveline modifications.

The platform delivers up to 400 kW peak power and 1,800 Nm of torque per wheel, with no derating across a full Nürburgring lap cycle, validated on our in-house performance bench.

The key enabler is high-speed wheel control. With 500 Nm/ms torque bandwidth, more than 20 times faster than a conventional axle, Sonic X gives the vehicle a new level of control authority directly at the wheel.

That translates into:
– 15% improvement in longitudinal performance, across acceleration and braking
– smooth transitions in changing grip conditions
– software-defined personalization of vehicle character

For the next generation of performance vehicles, the benchmark is how precisely the vehicle can use its performance on the road to deliver a superior driving experience.
