Elaphe took part in exhibiting at the high-end intelligent technology pavilion of the first-ever China International Import Expo (CIIE), held in Shanghai this October.

It is a significant move for the Chinese government to hold CIIE: it was their signal for support to trade liberalization and economic globalization and actively open the Chinese market to the world.

As one of the largest international markets, more so in automotive, Elaphe was happy to be invited to present our solutions for the future of mobility in China.

The audience was rich with government officials, business communities, exhibitors and professional purchasers from around the globe, and even the Chinese president Xi Jinping toured the grounds along with other foreign dignitaries.

“All countries should be committed to opening up and oppose protectionism and unilateralism in a clear-cut stand,” Xi said, calling for joint efforts to build an open world economy. While China’s resolve towards this remains to be seen, the expo attracted a total of 172 countries, regions and international organizations from five continents who showcased their development achievements.

The inaugural expo comes at an inflection point as China begins transition toward high-quality development and shifts from the world’s workshop to the world’s market, with the world’s biggest middle-income population demanding higher-quality consumer products. And new demands on mobility, green transportation, and cleaner air!
